Learning Experience Design
How I Create Impact
Designing practical, engaging learning experiences grounded in adult learning principles, focused on performance and real-world application rather than content delivery.
Representative Examples
Parallel Brands - Frontline Manager Development
Problem: Rapid growth led to widespread promotion of frontline managers without sufficient people management experience, increasing strain on HR and impacting engagement.
Solution: Designed and delivered a mandatory one-day workshop for 120 using an improv-based approach to model real challenges, followed by HR facilitated interactive discussions to identify appropriate responses and resources. Workshop learning was reinforced through bi-weekly virtual cohort sessions and coaching.
Outcome: Reduced requests to HR for basic employee relations support, improved employee engagement survey results, and increased capability among frontline managers.
Capability Building
Client Centered Training
Epic-Premier Insurance Solutions - Industry and Client Simulations
Problem: Engineers and technical support staff had little insurance industry knowledge, leading to challenging disconnects with clients.
Solution: Created eLearning courses that built foundational property and casualty insurance knowledge and simulated how various client roles interacted with proprietary software in real workflows.
Outcome: Shifted staff understanding from system functionality to real-world client workflows, improving relevance and effectiveness in client-facing scenarios.
Epic-Premier Insurance Solutions - Train-the-Trainer Program
Problem: Subject matter experts delivered onsite client training as lengthy product demos, resulting in low engagement, limited knowledge transfer, and the need for continued comprehensive support.
Solution: Designed and facilitated a five-day workshop focused on adult learning principles, facilitation skills, interactive design, contingency planning, and practice-based feedback.
Outcome: More confident trainers, higher-quality client training experiences with improved instructional consistency, and reduced ongoing support.
